There is no doubt that one of the most intelligent species on the planet is the Dolphin. In fact some researchers say that Dolphins may be as smart or even potentially smarter than human beings. We can certainly learn a lot from Dolphins and they from us. Currently researchers are mastering the Dolphin dialect and language in trying to map their communication techniques. Man and Dolphin seem to be equally as interested and curious with each other.
Dolphins have not only entertained us in trade for free Sushi, but also assisted us in military operations to sink enemy ships. Currently the United States Navy and Coast Guard are developing robotic AUV Autonomous Unmanned Vehicles to help in warfare in finding enemy sea mines, communication relay units, combat against enemy ships and even surveillance our harbors and coastal assets.Shouldn't we be using a combination of both organic and robotic methods for creating a proper safety net for our civilization? If we could better communicate with Dolphins then we would be able to ask them questions about what they saw and allow them to swim free in the harbor and report back to us and in doing so would get free fish of their favorite source and human companionship, perhaps a new iPod to wear with cool sounds? Think on this in 2006.
